Cougar Ridge Green Team News!

Green Team is already revving up for another great year working towards bettering our planet and the health of our community!  Our first effort is a partnership with Ridwell collecting plastic film.  This is slightly different from last year.  This year is plastic film.  Plastic Film is plastic you can stretch with your finger, including blue and white Amazon mailers, plastic wrap, ziploc sandwich bags, bread bags, etc..

Details:
  1. Start collecting plastic film at home, now - November's collection at school.
  2. Early November we'll update you on when to bring your plastic film to Cougar Ridge.
  3. Ridwell will pick it up and convert it into decking through their partner channels.
All plastic film collected will be upcycled into decking...so cool to repurpose, reuse and reduce landfill waste!  Furthermore, our community can earn additional incentives if families sign up for Ridwell's specialty recycling services.  Please use this link to try it for yourself at home.  You won't believe how much you can divert from your garbage bin and feel good knowing you are doing your part to help the planet!

Feel free to reach out to Wendy Dubrow, wendydubrow@gmail.com with any questions.

Recycle!

The Cougar Ridge Green Team and PTSA are proud to offer two specialty item recycling bins!  One for markers, pens and pencils.  Our newest bin, which was purchased using funds from the Spirit Swap is for glue sticks and glue bottles.

Please make sure to only put the correct items in each box

Both bins are located by the front office.

Thank you for doing your part to help protect our planet!
