Calling All Volunteers: Help Launch Chess & STEAM Enrichment Programs!

Our PTSA is excited to offer after school enrichment opportunities for our students, but we can’t do it without your help!  We are currently seeking volunteers for the following programs:

  • STEAM After-School Program: Help us bring hands-on science, technology, engineering, art, and math activities to life.
  • Chess Club: We aim to launch in January but need additional volunteers to get started.

No prior experience is necessary—just a willingness to support and engage with our students!

If you’re interested or have questions, please reach out to Emad. Thank you for helping make these programs possible for our kiddos!

Volunteer Opportunities

Interested in helping our Cougar Ridge PTSA? – There are many events you can help with such as Book Fair, Spelling Bee, Chess Club, STEAM Club, Science Fair, Art Fair, Reflections, Bingo, Gift-a-Book, and Staff Appreciation. Support roles are available such as webmaster and liaison to Issaquah Schools Foundation. A wonderful way to meet other parents is to help with Meet the Teacher and Kindergarten Playground Night. If you have a lot of time, please consider the Fundraising Committee. If you have a little time, we need help with the school's emergency supplies. Every role is important and any time you can give us is incredibly valuable and appreciated!  Please reach out to Kim Beaudoin if you would like more info about any of these positions.  We also welcome new ideas on how to support our wonderful community of teachers and students.

Get involved with Cougar Ridge PTSA! – This is a great way to meet other parents in your community and help our amazing school.  We currently have several supportive positions available.  Please contact Kim Beaudoin to find a committee that fits your interests.

Green Team Recycling Tips for November:

Did you know that fast fashion is a major contributor to carbon emissions, and therefore climate change?

Fun challenge: Check your clothes labels to see where your clothing items were made.  Many items are made in Asia.  Oftentimes the raw materials (fabric, thread, dye, etc.) are imported from elsewhere.  Then the item has to travel back across the globe for you to wear it.   The transportation alone comes with a major carbon footprint.  Look at a globe and trace with your finger to see how far your clothes had to travel for you to wear them.

The more we can upcycle clothing or repurpose something old to be something new again, the better off our planet is.  Way to go Bobcats on supporting and hosting our 3rd Annual Spirit Swap.  We are all making our planet a better place!

If you want to receive a school directory, you must be a PTSA member.  We welcome your support - thank you!
