Thursday, 4/23 – Cougar Ridge Art Fair

Attention 5th grade parents! Get the jump on the middle school experience by attending an early training for our Walkabout program on Tuesday April 28that 7:00 in the IMS Library.  The Walkabout program at Issaquah Middle School places extra adults on campus during high traffic times to serve as a positive presence in and amongst the student population.  At the beginning of the year we help with transitions between classes, locker troubles and work alongside the staff and student leaders at the school to ease anxiety and promote a positive campus atmosphere.   Even when kids have settled into the routine, Walkabout parents are on campus in the morning, at lunches and after school to continue to keep the campus safe and positive for all students.

Fifth grade parents who attend our spring Walkabout training can join us on Walkabout shifts this spring.  You will also be ready to join us for Walkabout shifts right at the beginning of the year.  Training will be offered again at the end of September so if this training does not work for you, there will be another opportunity.
