The title is heavy on the acronyms, but think of it like alphabet soup, warm and welcome when things are dreary. Our PTSA (parent student teacher association) and the ISF (Issaquah Schools Foundation) provide many opportunities for our students at Cougar Ridge and throughout the ISD (Issaquah School District).
PTSAs fund enrichment at individual schools; ISF addresses district wide
needs (as well as school specific grants) to increase the quality of education
in the Issaquah School District.
"Click for Kids" is part of Issaquah Schools
Foundation's Annual Fund Campaign "All in for Kids" running now through
November 19th, 2011. Every family and business in the
community is asked to donate as they can. (www.issaquahschoolsfoundation.org)
ISF funds programs in the school district
that would not be possible because of recent budget cuts, as well as programs
to advance academic achievement, support struggling students, and promote
profession development. Funded programs include the new elementary
science curriculum, financial literacy classes, GLAD teacher training, teacher
grants, VOICE mentoring, robotics, music, homework labs, PSAT testing etc..).
