Cougar Ridge PTSA Coffee/Chat

Cougar Ridge PTSA is sponsoring an informal morning Coffee and Chat with Mrs. Tanner and PTSA Parent Reps. Tuesday, March 27th 8:30-10am (drop in), MPR. Welcome everyone! Chat with other parents/caregivers; bring a friend. Ask questions about the school and PTSA programs. Learn about ways to get involved in the school community that fit your schedule. We think you’ll enjoy the event more without your child in tow, but we know that’s not always possible. We’d like to see you!)

Classroom FUN Drive: 3/12 - 3/16

The PTSA is putting together a gift card and wine donation drive to be used for the Cougar Ridge Carnival Night Auction. If each family could donate two items, we’d be in great shape!

There will be be a drop-off box for the gift cards in the office as well as a table set up out in front of the school before & after school each day of next week. Gift card donations will also be collected at the Science Fair on 3/15. Each child who turns in a gift card will be able to pick out a prize! The two classrooms that collect the greatest number of gift cards will receive an ICE CREAM PARTY (one K-2 class and one 3-5 class).

Wine drop-off will occur all week in the Matthew’s Thriftway parking lot from 8:15 – 8:45am and from 2:30 – 2:45pm.

Golden Acorn & Outstanding Advocate Nominations

It’s that time of year! PTSA Golden Acorn & Outstanding Advocate Nomination Forms are now being accepted. Please help us identify volunteers to be considered for these special PTSA awards.

The Golden Acorn Award honors exceptional volunteers who go above and beyond in their service to all children in the school community.

The Outstanding Advocate Award honors individuals for continued and dedicated service to all children and a demonstrated commitment to helping create strong policies relating to the health, welfare, safety, and education of children and youth.

- Pick up a copy in the hallway inside the front doors
- Attend the PTSA Meeting on January 17 at 8:45 a.m.

Awards will be presented March 20 at the 7 p.m. PTSA Meeting; recipients will also be honored at the District awards ceremony the evening of March 27.

Cougar Ridge's annual "Gingerbread Village" for Caring Through Sharing holiday giving program is on display in the main hallway at school. Please "visit the village" and select/fill gift requests for needy families in the Issaquah Food Bank service area.

"Caring Through Sharing" Holiday Giving Program Volunteers Needed

For families wishing to donate gifts, the gingerbread village display will be in the main hall 11/16 - 12/9.

Read "Everest" Now! 4/5 Grade Book Club is 11/10

Please join us for an exciting new PTSA event at Cougar Ridge for 4th and 5th graders and their parents. Read Everest: The Contest (Volume I of the Everest Series) by Gordon Korman with your child, and then come join us for a hands-on activity and book discussion on Thursday evening November 10th, 6:30-7:30pm in the CR Gym. Note: The book is available through the King County Library System and most book sellers.

"Spooky Spaghetti" is this Friday!

This annual, dad-run favorite is Friday, October 28th from 6-8pm. Event night tickets are $7.50 /person based on availability.
